Like a lighthouse in the midst of a raging sea, A Lighthouse in the Dark offers individual and group counseling sessions that help people of all ages heal holistically. One-on-one adult education, advocacy, and case management are also provided to help clients succeed professionally, financially, academically, or otherwise. At this time, A Lighthouse in the Dark specializes in domestic violence and sexual assault, women’s issues, trauma, adolescence and geriatric issues, LGBT+, and homelessness. Therapy can either be offered online, over the phone, or face-to-face. Techniques I use include:

- Gestalt Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Art and Writing therapeutic techniques
- Person Centered Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing
- Mindfulness
- Substance Abuse Counseling
A Lighthouse in the Dark recognizes the importance of building up a community, and will also engage in pro bono services for local volunteer organizations. Currently, the Lighthouse partners with community organizations like Feed My Sheep and Priceless Beginnings to provide counseling services, case management, and adult education services.
At this time, the Lighthouse accepts Aetna, Cigna, Humana, and Optum Healthcare, as well as Medicare through United Health and Humana. Sliding fee scales are also offered from $1.00 up to $40.00.

In addition, for those who are struggling with residential stability or homelessness, the Lighthouse offers free counseling sessions and/or comfort kits, which may include blankets, hats, mittens, and scarves.
